the factory

i'm finally getting into the swing of things with myself. figuring out what works, what doesn't and i think i've got my system, and i'm just nervous about sabatoging myself right now.  especially if i'm asked to go out where there may be any food.  still not my strong point. it is getting better though. 

one thing i was not able to weasle myself out of was going out to dinner last friday.  my parents for a birthday take that person out to dinner. well this year for my birthday, which was two months ago, we just plain forgot and i was totally okay with that. well they invited me to go with my other two sisters to their birthday dinner so we could go all together.  to none other than the cheesecake factory. kill me now. haha. 

i had to prepare myself. how awful it that.  i was nervous to go. so i looked at the menu online before i left and picked exactly what i was getting so i would not even look at the menu when i got there. of course i forgot that there is bread on the table and appetizers ordered. i resisted, i knew i only have a certain amount of calories to eat and that was it. i was not going over and that was final.  i was good, the food i got was great. i didn't want to eat the whole thing but i had to in order to get my calories in. what a shame :)

everyone ordered their cheesecake. i'm actually really glad my husband doesn't like it. it saved me from sneaking anything he ordered. i was scared to go just because that is alot of delicious temptations to deal with but i'm glad i was able to stay focused and have a great time too.  thank you to my parents for taking us all out. it was a great time!!  the best part was my brother in law came up to me and said how great i looked! yay. so people do notice!

i'm trying really hard not to be a food nazi but it may seem like i could be headed in that direction.  oops. :)

ZUPAS

i feel like i need to throw my hands in the air when i say zupas. i feel a little greek but i'ts not.


last night i went out with my sisters, a birthday night out, Mal, Kim, & Amy. we went to Zupas of course....flipping sooo sooo good!!

our delicious food.
They have soups, salads, & sandwhiches. oh man, the tomato basil & cauliflower soups were so creamy and good. best soup hands down. yeah they have one in Phoenix and then the rest are in Utah. WHAT?!


if it wasn't so far away from my house i would go there all the time...actually thats probably a good thing it is far.

after we filled our tummies, we went over to the store Last Chance.  it's a Nordstroms outlet, so yeah really flippin great prices.  i had heard that if you were lucky you could find some Tom's there at super great prices.

well the store must have known that that was all i was looking for and graciously provided the sweetest pair Tom's in my size.  i mean i was hoping for just any, like plain gray or maybe blue. 

Scored myself some black sparkly ones! whopping 20 bones. yeah i was so excited!! best birthday gift to myself ever!! :)

i thought about getting this hat there too..

yeah i thought it might be a too russian inspired. hahaha. they had some really fun hats there, one reminded me of a pillow case you just threw on your head and wore it out.

hahaha.  good times with the sisters, and a great night out!! woot!

last minute

So last night i had a last minute girls night with Darci of Page Traveler Tales. You should check her site and say hi!  She is super cute and writes really well, and of course an awesome momma.

We went and got pedicures.  What else would a girlie night consist of??  No I'm really asking, honestly i don't know.  I don't go on very many girl nights.  So if there is something you enjoy doing with your girls let me know cause i like going out, but would like some ideas to keep on hand. :) Cool thanks!  

Any who, it was a lot of fun.  I'm glad we decided to go, plus i haven't had a pedicure since the day before i got married, yeah coming up on 5 years people.

you don't? well here is a refresher.

anyway proof i have a fat toe, but i'm just really showing off my pedi. you get a two for one. yeeeah.

i'm all about the hot pink, and yes i know my toes seem to be freakishly long. i have big feet people and half is in toe. :)

HELP! I NEED SOMEBODY!! HELP!! NOT JUST ANYBODY!!!

Sorry, i'm just going super Beatles on you.  I do need help.

My hubster is going to be on a camping trip all next week. So i will have a mode of transportation for 6 days.  This doesn't happen often folks. I'm wanting to take my girls somewhere everyday, or at least try too, but of course i would prefer super super cheap or free things to do this next week. 

Any idea's???  I'm in good ol' Mesa, AZ

Some place you take your kids? Or just a place you like to go that sounds fun? Is there a place where you live that's fun? maybe they have it here too.

I'm open to anything. I can handle taking my kids out by myself so anywhere is up for grabs.  I seriously appreciate your help! thank you!
