Ya know I haven't written for myself about anything for what seems like a century. When reading and editing others blog posts you kinda loose the joy you once had for throwing your thoughts out on a page for your self. What else is there to say when everyone else you know is saying it all?
I can't promise myself that I will get back in the habit of recording things in this blog, cause I know myself and I hate making goals that I can't keep. So, I will leave with this...
I'll see ya when I see ya.

What I Loved About Peekaboo Chic
2018 just disappeared on me and left me in the dust. So much crammed in the last few months of the year and just coming up for air.
Sometimes when I'm given an opportunity to review a product of some kind I get it done relatively quickly. In the case of this one, I did not. I could not. I would not. I really wanted an honest opinion on what I was given so you, my friends, would have all the details, good and bad.
That brings me to a fun company, Peekaboo Chic! This site is all about cute slips and extenders for shirts and tops. Meaning a little cute peek of an adorable lace, or silk to add a little extra something to your already adorable outfit.
Which is perfect for me, because I'm all about the leg that doesn't get seen. Even though I am short I was still having problems with my skirts coming up in the back or when I sat down too much knee, for my liking, was exposed.
When they sent me the slip extender that I picked out, I chose the super cute Classy vs Sassy Half Slip in White π, the truth is it was still hot. Far too hot to even attempt wearing it, it's Ari-freakin-zona, it has barley hits fall weather in December! π
But I took one for the team and tried the piece even when it was a little to warm for an extra layer, and of course used it when it actually was the perfect temperature.
Here it is folks the moment you've been waiting for:
*I was compensated with a Peekaboo Chic product in exchange for my review. All opinions of the product are my own.*

Things I loved about Peekaboo Chic
FABRIC
The first feel of the slip was perfect. Its a double layer stretch fabric its not too thick but its durable and feel so soft to the touch. I knew that this would feel great wearing.
WAIST BAND
You had me a fold over waistband. Seriously, the waist band it like comfy yoga pants, comfy. It's an extra wide fold over waist which is perfect for wearing the slip for a long period of time which made me very happy.LACE
I will tell you I was skeptical to pick the skirt extender that I did because laces are not all created equal. I was nervous because well sometimes lace is just awful. It could either be scratchy, stiff or wrinkly or soft and light. Thankfully the lace is on the soft and light side of lace. It was great to feel that the lace was just as high quality as the rest of the skirt fabric, obviously not the same, but you can see that they are working with high quality materials and want to give you the best.
LENGTH
Last but not least is the length. I was worried given my shorty life that this thing would be to my ankles, thankfully it was not. It fit perfectly on its own to exactly where I would have wanted it, a wee bit past my knees. So when I sat down it would still be draping over my knees. The waistband sat just above my natural waist which made it even more comfortable not competing with my skirts, and sat perfectly.
-------
So I guess you could say almost everything about it. I found that this was a perfect pairing, me and my lace skirt extender. I took it with me when I tried on clothes, it went under pencil skirts, a-line dresses and my flowy skirts effortlessly. I could dress up or dress down. It made for that extra little something I didn't even know that I need with my dresses and skirts.
Seriously, check them out if your looking for a slip for a dress or shirt, and they have so many designs and styles to choose from! You'll get amazing quality, comfort and lets me real they are just so dang cute!

The Jenkins Take California: Beach Edition
At the end of last July we skipped school and headed to California as a family. We hadn't been to Cali in a few years and wanted to make the best of the trip.
Setting out on a Saturday morning we arrived in Anaheim around dinner time. I'd forgotten what a long drive it is from Phoenix with children.
Sunday we loaded up the family slathered on the sunscreen and headed to the beach.
Bolsa Chica beach was perfection!
Camden was probably the most excited about seeing the ocean and hanging out at the beach for the first time. We played, collected sea shells & sand crabs, dug holes, ate snacks, got super sandy, and had a fun time. I think we'll have to try and do this again next summer.

Here is my story, my WHY!
Everyone has a reason they do the things they do. Here is my story, my why, my reason that I decided after many years to jump full force into using essential oils.
*This started as a Facebook post then got wordy π
I had read many testimonials and stories from my friend Jenessa, and the success she was having with certain young living essential oils. She was just sharing her results and her heart in simple Facebook posts. Around that that same time Evelyn was having issues with taking short deep breaths constantly, we thought maybe it was asthma. We consulted with her pediatrician about it and she said it wasn't that, but more possibly a nervous tic.
I was kinda freaking out on the inside a little bit. She was involuntarily doing this, she couldn't control it. How do I help my child deal with something she can't control, and something I can't control.
We went home from that appointment, and was just kinda baffled at what I was supposed to do. I thought well maybe some essential oils would help? I had some lying around the house still from years ago, I found one and applied it to her.
That night I was on Facebook and that same friend who had been sharing her love of oils, posted about a deal on a starter kit with young living that came with all these extras and such. I thought about it for awhile actually. I was hesitant because $160 was quite a bit for me spend, but then thought, wouldn't I give anything to help my daughter? This could be the answer I was looking for! I messaged her the next afternoon.
I was nervous, excited, slightly skeptical, but I was determined to help Evelyn in any way. To answer your question, her tic is under control with the help of essential oils. ππππ
I am so freaking grateful for Jenessa for not being afraid to share her love of essential oils and helping me get started. I only wish I can help someone else like she helped me. This is why I'm sharing.
I have seen so many amazing results using these precious oils. Personally, my hormones are more balanced, my skin in clearer, my cycle is totally manageable now, I just feel better than I ever have.
My kids are requesting to use the oils, they love using them, and I love it. I've been slowly switching out chemicals, soaps, deodorants, you name it, to be as close to a toxin free home as possible. I never thought I would be that person, but so glad I am now.
I feel so much better about my home and our health. I'm getting some serious peace of mind and perks of an amazing smelling home.
So there you have it, that is my story, my why. I'm so glad I took a leap and got a starter kit in my home. It's changing our lives. π

Flush then wash your hands please!!
Please tell me I'm not alone in the struggle bus of kids not flushing the toilet or washing their hands after using the bathroom. I can not be the only one!
You would think after every single time they come out of the bathroom and me yelling from across the house "FLUSH THEN WASH YOUR HANDS PLEASE!!" They would get it, but sadly hasn't sunk in quite yet.
So in my effort to try to yell across the house less, I made a couple signs, laminated them and everything, taped them to the doors and mirrors of the bathrooms my kids use the most.
Yeah, 1000000% ineffective πππ
Month later from putting up the signs I'm still yelling across the house " FLUSH THEN WASH YOUR HANDS PLEASE!!" I say please so its all good folks.
I'm not even joking you that the bathroom Gods heard my sorrows and frustration and the clouds parted, entered P.U!
You guys no lie P.U is a little device that sits on the back of your toilet and has a motion sensor (no video people, don't worry) and when your done a message plays to remind your kids to flush the toilet and wash their hands for you! No more yelling across the house! P.U. does all that for me!! Best of all I can record myself saying whatever I want!! YESSSSS!!!!
A friend of ours created this amazing product and it's literally genius! P.U is what they call a potty training assistant, I call it a parents best friend.
They just started a kickstarter campaign to get this product into as many home across the globe and I for one am excited to support and see this happen!
Check out the Kickstarter and make a pledge!
Check out the P.U facebook page to learn more and watch some hilarious videos of what you could say with your P.U device!
This isn't sponsored I just think this is a freaking genius idea and wanted to share!!

Summer Shenanigans
Every summer is different. Obviously each year my kids are older, they have different ideas of what is fun and what is not. I try to be the "fun" mom but fun mom can be expensive. πEspecially with 4 kids.
We don't leave the house every day, cause sometimes just thinking about getting in the van makes me want to curl up into a ball and hide forever. It's so hot. BUT I still do try to let my kids experience new things along with the same ol' summer stuff.
Obviously #1 summer activity is anything that involves water. Swimming, splash pads, backyard sprinkler, whatever has water we try and do.
#2 anything inside.
Like a said if we can avoid not leaving the house we don't and if we do its to a water hole or somewhere else inside.
I surprised the kids and took them to a super fun indoor play park. Slides, trampolines, rock walls, etc. I was a little worried about Leonard, only being 2 how he would do. He was freaking out when we got there and didn't want to wear the grippy socks but when our hour play time was up he was freaking out cause he didn't want to leave. Totally worth the trip and the expense!
We're planning on taking the kids again, and trying out a couple of the other indoor places we have in the valley.
#3 Everything elseπ card games, video games, Lego building, movies, sending my kids to friends houses, and having friends over.
One great thing about older kids is they have friends that invite them over, and want to come over. It doesn't happen all the time, but its a nice change for everyone.
With only a couple week left of summer break, 3 out of 4 kids are in school this year and it starts July 18th, we are making the best of spending time together.
