seriously though folks.  cleaning had been a sort of battle.  I love having a clean house but i just couldn't make that happen so i would be bitter and upset at the world. i started taking my frustration out of the goodies and treats in the freezer and cupboards. yikes!

angry eating is not my friend.


so I've taken a new approach on the death word....cleaning.

for the past week I've tried something different and it seems to be working for me.

not caring. :) weeeeee!

now that i don't care as much if the house is a mess, because it always was, it's clean. WHAAAA!!?!

It's cray cray and all forms of it. 

I've realized i don't need a schedule or a list of things to do.  It just takes some patience.  that's it.

i was frustrated before with the fact that i have to clean the same thing multiple times in one day, but now i just leave it, and then when i get around that area I'll clean it up real quick.

again. WHAAA?!?!

So not caring has been my missing link all along!?!?! hahaha.

it feels good not to care, and just get around to it when i do.  Which now i get around to it all the time. 

I don't see it as a chore so much anymore, so i'm okay with it.

I'm not making any sense am i? well in my mixed up head it makes perfect sense.

so what we've learned today...

laziness = clean
clean = meh
meh = happy
happy = clean.

writing utensils, i hate you.

yes, sometimes i just hate pens, crayons, markers, etc. especially if they are decorating my walls. lame times 10.

exhibit A:

pen one of the more difficult things to get off of walls. in my opinon.

i found something the other day that said it would take pen marks off walls.

in the past i used magic erasers. i thought that they were the shiz!

well step a side lame erase, i got a new boo.


exhibit B:

yes that's right i have a strong armed boo. i slapped my self in the face a few times because i can't believe that pinterest, PINTERST, of all places needed to tell me that this would work! sometimes i shame myself.

and yes diet Dr. Pepper is KEY to clean in this household!

all you need is a wet sponge with an abbrasive/mean side, and some baking soda.


exhibit C & D:

to keep from pouring baking soda all over myself, i just dipped it in, eventually the whole thing was dipped.

then you just have at it. you need a good thick amount i think to get it to work really well.

after about 5 mintues this lovely patch of evil was terminated.

exhibit E:

i suggest you wipe it down with a wet cloth to get all the excess baking soda off. but worked like a charm.

i tried in right after on some crayon, easily came off. SCORE!!

hopefully i will be able to keep up with having clean walls with this little cleaning tool. i don't think i'll have any problem as long as i have a diet DP in hand.

well lets see its been a while. sorry about that.

i seem to have developed a slight cleaning OCD the last couple of weeks. its not a huge one just a small one.  it is a good thing though.  i like cleaning, but not my own house.  i love cleaning other people houses. weird, but maybe not. who's with me on that one?? anyone?? so my house has been cleaner now than it has been for a really long time. its kind of nice, but its always going to just get messy again. oh well, such is life. :)

so i've been cleaning in my spare time. weird!!


anyway.

i ordered a pair of glasses online last week and they came in the other day.

first off i got these bad boys for free! yes thats right. from a little place called coastal contacts. oh yeah, like their FB page and you can order free glasses too, there is a little tabby for free frames! yay!

so i never showed my hubster what they looked like.  So i sent him a picture and said "your wife the nerd".  When he got home that night he looked at me for a few seconds and said "yep, my little nerd wife." hahaha


its going to take him longer to get used to them than me.  I'm not used to being able to see clearly out of glasses. my old ones were so scratched and missing pieces it was rediculous.

what the lettuce??

I wish i could read the minds of my children so i could figure out why when they do things.

For example:

I was reading a few things the other day in the front room (i was out of the room for 10 minutes) i open the door to the kitchen and i hear running.  I know this is not a good thing.  Evelyn has clearly been up to no good.  I walk in and there is lettuce, everywhere!



I find her and ask her why she decided that this was a good idea.  She said that she was making me lunch.  awwww thank you, but nice try.

as punishment i had her pick up every piece and had her count everyone she picked up and threw away. i did have to help count once she got past 20.  I believe we ended on 117.

i asked if she was going to do this again and she said "no mom i'm done counting." :) mmmwhaha.

week

okay my goals for this week are:

1. clean the house top to bottom & i mean spotless
2. keep said spotless house that way
3. paint front living room, and maybe get the family room done too
4. if i can't paint family room get all crayon/pencil/marker off the wall stat.
5. make sure house doesn't smell like cat/dirty diapers/feet or any other nasty smell.
6. stay sane.

Why would i be so crazy about getting the house clean when in fact it honestly is NEVER EVER clean?!?!

Well i'm glad you asked cause there will be a little shindig going down at me casa this coming Saturday.  coolness.

Its a Harry Potter Party.  A friend of mine as throwing the party and I'm letting her use my house cause it can fit a few more peeps.

my feet need a break.  they are not really tired (but a good food rub would be nice). my feet need a break from the crumbs that get stuck to the bottom of them when I'm walking around the house.

have you ever experience stepping on a day old piece of toast?

just to let you know (from experience) its collapses instantaneously under pressure into miniaturized pieces of annoyance. sometimes i will just brush my feet off and walk away from the pile, cause lets face it sometimes i just don't have the time (or i'm just being lazy) to clean it up.  so how many times does it take for me to step on it before i clean it up? a whole lot that's how many.

i know it needs to be clean but i make the excuse of  "it's just going to happen again so why clean it up now." story of my life.

so in conclusion. i guess if i need a break for my feet i need to use my feet more and walk around and clean up right when the mess or spill happens. 

how is this better?  i do not know, but it is.

on a scale of 1 to 10 how clean is your house right now.
1 = disaster zone  10 = so clean that even Mr. clean is envious.

i'm gonna have to go with a 4.  which is what it is pretty much every day.
