preschool party

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

yesterday was a fun morning. Evelyn had her preschool halloween party.

the three of us (evelyn, amelia, and myself) dressed up and went to party.

evelyn is so excited to be a cat this year. yeah thats right she totally changed her mind on the whole spongebob thing and wanted to be a cat. i wouldn't be surprised if she ended up being a cat for many halloweens. she's been a little cat crazy as of late.

anywho.

i was one of two moms that dressed up. i'd say there were at least 15 moms there with the kids oh and a few dads there too. hahaha. it was fun. people kept looking at me, i wonder why? hmmm.

my little Dorthy and my cat
(she wouldn't stop touching amelia with her tail, she had way too much fun with it!)
sweet mia, she wouldn't wear a brown wig. oh well still cute.

her whiskers and nose were gone by the end of the party.

yes i went as a purple cow.
what do you think when someone says purple cow?

i think of a yummy grape float.
thats what we call those.

they did a little parade around the yard.
it was cute.

decorating cookies.

and eating decorated cookies. :)

they had alot of fun
playing with the other kids
making paper pumpkins
decorating cookies
and they each got a goodie bag with treats.

i'll have pics from tick or treating tomorrow.

:)
hopefully it goes over well.

Party

So this past Saturday i hosted a baby shower for my SIL Jennifer and her upcoming little bundle, which we are 85% sure is a girl, and that is enough in my mind to throw a girl baby shower. :)

this is her 5th child so the shower is a little unorthodox, but i thought that she deserved some love for this new little bundle.

i tried my very best to make it cute, but simple.

color scheme: orange and pink
drink: orange water and pink lemonade
food: cupcakes, dipped oreos, and cake rounds(chocolate and strawberry)
(i hate saying balls so there are called cake rounds.....)

It wasn't much but it was nice to see my SIL happy & having a good time.  She received a lot of adorable things!
I'll admit i was a little jealous of some of the things she got cause they were just so stinking cute!! :)

We had games, a diaper drawing, & prizes.

I thought i did a pretty good job getting things ready.

A first timer doing planning and making a party happen by myself. it was a lot of work but it was fun.

The invitation was really fun to make. i made it on Picnik in about 10 minutes, got it printed at Walgreen's and sent them out that same night. It was so much cheaper than going to the store and buying some. I love to save money.

All in all i thought it was a lot of fun.  It was a bummer that it started raining about 20 minutes before it started and it rained most of the time, but at least it wasn't hot, cause i couldn't turn the fans on because of my streamers. :)

I think I'm going to take a break from the party thing for a while, well at least parties at my house.

Happy Monday to you all!!

Make it a great week!

Goals for the week:
-wrap all the Christmas presents
-make a skirt
-finish all the laundry
-clean out the storage closet

wowza

I never realize how much time has passed until i look at the date of the last time i posted. doh!

i have been busy, but then again not busy.  I'm not sure how to describe it.

the thing i'm busy with the most right now is the baby shower that i am planning for my SIL for this Saturday.  I decided the 15th to do this, i got the invitations done and mailed out the next day. and now i'm collecting and making decorations and figuring out arrangements for the desserts and fun.

I love throwing parties. i think it was 3 Sundays in a row we had some sort of party at my house. it was nuts.

One thing that i need to remember to not over look is the fact that my sweet little baby, well not anymore, will be turning 2 on Saturday as well.

We are celebrating on Friday.  We are taking her to the children's museum in down town mesa for a day of awesome. I've never been myself so i'm super excited too! :) i can't wait to share the fun and excitement of her birthday with her.

How has your weeks been, thanksgiving? decorating for Christmas? ( i need to start that too)

my goals this week are:

-get all decorations (babyshower & christmas) up by Thursday
-take more pictures
-30min of exercise everyday
-drink 8 glasses of water a day
-smile & laugh a little bit more this week
-take my kids for a couple of walks
-watch a Christmas movie to get my holiday cheer going
and finally
-don't screw up the cake pops I'm making :)

have a wonderful Monday!!

its a party

okay so my little girls have been invited to their FIRST friend birthday party!
uhhhh HUGE!!

I mean they have been to some cousin parties but this is so different.

I'm more excited then they are. Amelia just smiles at anything i say, and I was telling evelyn about it and she was like "yeah, okay" the.end.

now i must figure out what to get their little friend. hmmmm....

what a great gift for little girls ages 2-4??

anything out right now that is popular with this age?
-your probably thinking aren't my kids this age too?!
-shouldn't you know?!
yes they are this age and no i don't.
i know what my kids like and it's usually a used piece of paper or something broken.

help a momma out?!

thanks so much!

HP

NO not the computer silly the man himself Harry Potter.

The Harry Potter Party i think went off swimmingly! i seriously thought that there would be some killing curses spatted off when the tournament began but alas there was not.  Thank goodness.  I should have had people sign wavers before it started you know just in case.

i of course, in my awesomeness, foolishly forgot to take a SINGLE picture of the main events and the loads of HP fanatics that came.

I'm glad i was able to host a good time for those that came!

if you want to see some pictures this amazing beauty remembered to be cool and take a few shots.

i love having parties.  to my husbands dismay there shall be a lot more parties in our future. :)

any random holiday/event coming up in the next couple of months that can be partyized??

week

okay my goals for this week are:
  1. clean the house top to bottom & i mean spotless
  2. keep said spotless house that way
  3. paint front living room, and maybe get the family room done too
  4. if i can't paint family room get all crayon/pencil/marker off the wall stat.
  5. make sure house doesn't smell like cat/dirty diapers/feet or any other nasty smell.
  6. stay sane.
Why would i be so crazy about getting the house clean when in fact it honestly is NEVER EVER clean?!?!

Well i'm glad you asked cause there will be a little shindig going down at me casa this coming Saturday.  coolness.

Its a Harry Potter Party.  A friend of mine as throwing the party and I'm letting her use my house cause it can fit a few more peeps.

Hey if you'd like to join us in our awesomeness shoot me an email or find me on that facepalm and I'll send you the info. :)
