1200 Minute Summer Movement Challenge

To give myself some account ability this summer and stay active, i'm starting a summer movement challenge.

The 1200 minute summer movement challenge is to be active 1200 minutes during the months of June & July. This breaks down to about 20 minutes per day. 20 minutes is something that I can easily accomplish even with my kids up during the day or do at night before bed.

I've been learning more and more about intuitive eating and listening to what my body needs and it's craving movement.

I'm not looking for a physical transformation, I know that I need this mentally to breeze through summer with a healthy mind, and movement helps me more than anything else.

I've created a spreadsheet to keep my accountable and you can download one for yourself, if you'd like to join me HERE. At the end of summer see if you hit it or exceeded it!

Being active doesn't have to be a big ordeal, but its a conscience decision you will make every day. I think that's the most important thing in this challenge, is making the choice.
  • swim
  • bike
  • walk
  • lift weights
  • workout videos
  • yoga
  • garden
  • dance
  • skip
  • run
Whatever you're heart and body wants. Just get up and move your body.

Will you join me in my 1200 minute summer movement challenge?

If you want to join download and print your own movement spreadsheet, use the hashtag #1200summermovementchallenge on social media! Follow me during this challenge on my Instagram | AIRKAKA

If you have any issues getting the spreadsheet let me know!!! Thanks friends!

9 Young Living Essential oils (you'll actually use) for LESS than $13

Hi friends!

Lets talk essential oils.

I wanted to create this post because this is something I would have loved to read before using essential oils.

From someone who is frugal in basically all things in my life, and can not even hardly spend money on myself, I know cost is one of the first things people think about with essential oils. Yes, they are an investment, but there are essential oils that you will actually want to use that wont break the bank. Especially, if you are wanting to try some but don't want to commit to a premium starter kit just yet.

First things first, the prices i'm sharing are wholesale pricing. Meaning, these are the prices that members of YL receive when they purchase oils. However, a lot of these oils retail price are below $13 as well. If you are not a member but want wholesale prices, find a member local to you (pick me friends! 😉), they can add the oils you want to try to their essential rewards monthly order and viola! You've got oils at the best price and don't have to worry about becoming a member.

So lets get right into this.

It's always a good idea to talk with your doctor before using any essential oils to see they are safe to be combined with anything you may already to be taking. Each EO is linked to pages with more information about that oil. Here is also the essential oil safety guide with some important usage FAQS.

The white labeled bottle AKA the Vitality Line is so you can clearly see what oils are safe for internal use. They each have supplement fact labels as well for FDA regulation for consuming.

Personally, I do use my vitality line essential oils aromatically, and topically as well.

I work out, sometimes: Deck of cards workout

Yes, on occasion i do in fact work muscle groups for an extended period of time.

I'm posting a simple work out that i was introduced to last summer from friends during my "i work out all the time" phase, that I'm starting again, from home. I'd love for anyone to join me. :)

Its called "Deck of Cards workout" and yes its as easy as it sounds.

All you need is a standard deck of cards, something to write on, something to write with and hand weights (optional)

Here's how simple this work out it:

See easy!  What's great is you can modify the exercises how ever you want!

It doesn't take very long to get through a deck of cards, only about one episode of Property Brothers on netflix.  Yes, i will be doing this workout while watching netflix, i mean why not!? I'm starting off slow and simple, but as i need to i can add more reps, more weight, more time.

I have this workout in my calendar on Monday, Wednesday & Friday for the next 10 weeks.

So, what do you think? Have you done this work out before? Let me know!

how i went about being a loser

so i got a couple of questions about how i'm losing weight.
there is actually few things that i've love to share with ya.

just so everyone knows. it's taken lots of time, patience and dedication for sure.

At the end of November i started really getting motivated and i really wanted a way to track my food and just see how bad i really was.

So i signed up with My Fitness Pal. a free calorie counter.  i did a week of just what i normally ate. I was all over the place! some days i would only consume 600-800 calories and others over 2000! i obviously was not smart about what i was eating and not knowledgeable about how much i should be eating, i was a mess.

so i started off by setting my goal to eat 1500 calories a day and drinking 8 or more glasses of water a day.

i wasn't going all crazed diet, i didn't put crazy restrictions on myself, i knew i would cave and sabotage myself. so i let things open.

and honestly after just a few weeks of doing that i was feeling great!! i lost a few pounds, and was doing good. the holiday's hit but i was still doing good. i didn't over do it because i knew I'd be logging everything in and i didn't want to disappoint myself.

i was doing really great. i knew though i need to change my calorie intake to be a little lower soon. that's when at the end of January Weight Watchers came into play.  i was just what i needed to keep me going.

i got a handy dandy phone app to keep track of my points, but by then i was so used to tracking my food i kept doing that too. so for the last 3 months I've been keeping track of points while at the same time tracking the phone in myfitnesspal too. i've added friends on myfitnesspal to keep myself honest and motivated.

it seems to be working really well for me.  i started walking, then did Billy Blanks Boot camp to get some muscle, now i'm going both walking and the boot camp intermittently to keep things going too. i feel better when i work out. i may not loose as much because of it, but i can feel the difference and my clothes feel the difference too. it has helped that i've been eating more fruits and vegetables every day, they are zero points so i try and eat as much as i can, so i stay full longer and feel more satisfied.

this has gotten kind of lengthy so i won't go into what i eat specifically, but if you'd like to know...ask. i'd be happy to share!

:)  so now you know how i became a loser.  it's pretty awesome and to think i could be 40 pounds down in another 3 months! that's so exciting to think about!
