You can get it

Sometimes in order to better yourself you need to be vulnerable.

I started, a few weeks ago, my own little personal challenge for the summer. I call it, you can get it #youcangetit. To eat a little better, drink more water, and workout for at least 20 minutes every day till the kids go back to school on July 25th.

Eating better and drinking more water is the easy part. Finding the time and motivation to work out just 20 minutes is the hard part.

Right now i'm trying to write this post and my 3 year old is asking me over and over again for pink cereal, while my baby is crying in my ear cause I'm holding him and typing.  He's a bit high maintenance and doesn't appreciate being put down to chill on his own. boo. But even with all the insane things that are happening right now i at least try to run up and down the stairs a few extra time during the day, & do squats or lunges while holding Leo.

Since there is only a few weeks left of summer i'm going to give you my half way progress, i guess.

This is were vulnerable comes in. its picture time!!

This was taken June 1st went I started

This was taken the 15th

Not much difference but there is some change.

I do feel a lot better and am happy to be back in the grind.

I like a good challenge and having accountability for me is key too success.

I'll keep updating as the summer goes. hopefully i'll be able to figure out a system to make sure i get a solid exercise routine going.

Thanks for following along and as always being awesome.

I work out, sometimes: Deck of cards workout

Yes, on occasion i do in fact work muscle groups for an extended period of time.

I'm posting a simple work out that i was introduced to last summer from friends during my "i work out all the time" phase, that I'm starting again, from home. I'd love for anyone to join me. :)

Its called "Deck of Cards workout" and yes its as easy as it sounds.

All you need is a standard deck of cards, something to write on, something to write with and hand weights (optional)

Here's how simple this work out it:

See easy!  What's great is you can modify the exercises how ever you want!

It doesn't take very long to get through a deck of cards, only about one episode of Property Brothers on netflix.  Yes, i will be doing this workout while watching netflix, i mean why not!? I'm starting off slow and simple, but as i need to i can add more reps, more weight, more time.

I have this workout in my calendar on Monday, Wednesday & Friday for the next 10 weeks.

So, what do you think? Have you done this work out before? Let me know!

motivated

i'd have to say that the last two have been freakin awesome.

i have forgotten how much i actually love working out. the burn of your muscles being worked, the point where you think you could pass out but you keep going, and the best feeling ever is knowing you finished, and i am ALIVE. :)

i loved doing it in high school. it was my favorite class.

my mother and i signed up the summer before my senior year and did a flippin intense sports lifting class from my school.  i know my mom wanted someone to do it with her so of course i signed up.  it turned out that i was really good at lifting.  cling and jerk, those types of lifts.  it was A LOT of fun too! it was every day for a couple of hours. it was hot and miserable, but loved it.

i hope to be able to get back to that, the lifting.  i want to get to a certain point so i can sign up for crossfit.  i've looked at a few places close to my house that have a program. it would be so amazing!  i've been very inspired by this lady, simply sadie jane, she is pregnant and lifting too! super awesome.

something to remember

 it's been 4 weeks and i've noticed the change. 4 more weeks :) can't wait for 12!!! :)

have a wonderful day!

Make it a great week and don't give up!

if you do i'll send out my rex to get ya motivated. BAHAHAHA!!

fun squared

i'm not sure whats going on...i'm having such a hard time finishing posts around here.

i'll start one, never finish, then go back to it and delete it. it has been never ending cycle of lame squared.

sorry about that.

nobody likes a lame squared.  i promise more fun squared around these parts from now on.

cross my heart. i do not hope to die, and i will not stick a needle in my eye, but i promise. :)

so on the agenda this week- more work outs. woot!

i started last week on a boot camp with this guy

i know you know him.

yep billy blanks.
and seriously billy tanks do coming it bigger sizes...

ahhh yes, that is much better.

so it is a system of videos with tae bo, resistance bands, crunches, you know all the good work out jazz.

and after a work out a pretty much look like this,

crazy eyes.

i'm excited for the next 3 weeks of work outs.

i'll end the day after my b-day.
yay, happy freakin birthday to me! :)

evelyn watched my do a work out the other day and later on i saw her doing some of the moves i was doing. what a cutie.

i'm surpisingly not sore at all, i'm not sure if that is a good sign or a bad sign. i'm usually sore, maybe i'm just getting stronger?

i can't believe i'm saying this but they are actually fun workouts. i get excited to do them....what is happening to me!?!!

I LOVE IT!!!

wish me luck! have an awesome monday!!

fitness

During the holiday's there are way to many good things to eat
going around, and i try to keep things in check, but it sure is hard.
so about 2 weeks ago i found this awesome website and i'll never go back.

i've never done anything like this before.
i'm sure that some or all have heard of this little beauty.
if you haven't i hope you'll be as excited as i was when i saw it.
the best part, is it has a free app for my phone too, so i can keep track all the time.
this site helps you keep track of what you eat,
and total calories you take in everyday.
it also records excersises you do and the calories burned that day.

it's simple, but it has been a real help.

however i never eat much, so my body always seems to be in starvation mode so it stores fat rather then getting rid of it.
so my challenge right now is to eat enough calories in a day so that does not happen.  who knew that eating would be so hard, when i love it so much.

i have my fun little counter on the side bar so y'all can keep track with me, and it makes sure i keep up with it when i know others are looking.
i'm sure some days will be better than others but i'm exciting to keep this up. especially during the "treats" season.
if you want check it out.
it is so easy!!
HAPPY EATINGS!!! :]

transformation

So we are having our labor day weekend just a hop skip away in the nearby town of scottsdale.  Staying at a cute little place.  One really great thing about staying somewhere is you can turn the air down as cold as you want and not have the pay a dime for it.  oh its so nice to walk in the apartment at have it be below 70.  Makes the 110 weather outside a little more bearable. :)

How is everyone doing on the no soda?  I haven't caved. I won't cause i know if i do i'll have to say i did then i will kick myself because if it. I'm not wanting any sort of pain right now.

Speaking of pain....100 Workouts?? anyone actually trying it? or at least tried it once? if you haven't do it!! :)

oh and i'd like to mention that my inner emo has left me.  I knew it was going to be short lived, it was fun while it lasted.

my final hair transformation is complete. a little look that is called ombre. yeah its pretty awesome, and a lot of fun!

Did i mention how much i love getting my hair done??!?! Because its one of my favorite things. :)

i hope everyone has a wonderful safe labor day!!! Make its the best one yet!!

bed time

I'm sitting here in a quiet house. Husband is off at his friends house, and i'm so bored.  I'm  not tired enough to go to bed just yet.  i've already done my workout and holy moly!! I am feeling it.  I hope anyone else that is doing the 100 workout is feeling it too. (if your not and its a breeze, please lie to me.)

anyway, my children are tucked away all snug in their beds.  That's right, i said beds, plural.  Amelia is officially a toddler!  today is the second night she has been in her 'big girl' bed.  oh but this is not all!!  My girls are in the SAME room!

::applause::

Thank you, thank you! i know, amazing things are happening at our house. Sure the first night of them sharing a room Evelyn woke up at around 2am crying and screaming cause she wet the bed and woke up Amelia, then they just played till about 4ish when then finally fell back asleep. (they were so cranky today)

I'd say its been a huge success!

I did take everything out of their room though.  I'm a mean mom.  the only thing in their room is (of course) their beds, a rug, and a couple of stuffed animal.  stuffed animals are much quieter than blocks and cars. quiet sleep = happy momma.

I'm hoping that with less distractions they will sleep better. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that all thing will go well tonight!

goodnight y'all

100 workouts

okay so I've never really had a great work out routine.  The last time i had a very consistent routine was the summer before my senior year of high school and i had a football coach giving me my routine so it was pretty intense.

haven't done a very good job since then.

i was with some of my friend a few weeks ago for girls night and they were talking about how they needed to go to the gym. these girls don't need to worry about going to a gym either, they are so freakin beautiful!! i honestly can't remember the last time i went to a gym.  its why I'm so round and slacking in the whole "healthy" thing.

I'm a busy mom, trying to keep the kids happy, trying to keep the house clean, cook meals, yeah you get the idea.  I stay pretty busy during the day. I've felt like i haven't had the time to really start a regular work out routine.

well my friend i have found my saving grace!! big thank you to pinterest and a friend (::cough cough:: Leigh) for posting this simple list of things i can do throughout the day! yes!!

I started today. Yikes it is rough. Seemed easy but things on paper usually seem that way.

If you want, start with me!!  You may be busy too, but you have a few minutes here and there to work out. GO FIGURE!?!

I know that this list and i are going to be good friends.  I don't care if i loose weight i just want to get a work out in and feel better!

Who doesn't want to feel better?

Whose with me?
